I am going to start my own mobile detailing business. I will go to people's places of work or homes and detail their cars. Detailing includes: washing, waxing, shampooing carpets, cleaning engines and floor mats, cleaning all vinyl, rubber, and plastic inside, washing mirrors, and finally dressing the tires.
I worked in a detail shop for 8 months before finally leaving and deciding to start my own. I found out that you save close to $2,000 a month if you don't rent a shop and go mobile instead. I built up a fairly large and reputable client list while working there and it continues to grow as I keep working. Also, my dad has a lot of connections with car dealerships and he's best friends with the owner of NAPA Auto Parts in Bellingham so I will be doing all their trucks and used cars soon.
I won't have any employees. It will just be me working out of my van. All my equipment and chemicals fit perfectly in my van with room to spare. No one likes a dirty car, but most people don't know how to remove large stains. I can remove just about any stain and make your car look like new. A detail is perfect if you're thinking about trading in or selling your vehicle.
