Hello Graphic Arts I students. Mr. Dotson here. I would like everyone to finish Photoshop so we can start learning to design with vector software. If you have the Adobe Suite or are renting it now, you can use that. It's $20 a month. There are also many free alternatives you can use to do your images instead of Photoshop. My favorite is Gimp.
Remember, if you've already done your Photoshop tutorials and have them uploaded, you don't have to redo them. However, you can now use Gimp to do the rest if you haven't.
Here are the tutorials you can use.
Gimp 1 for ps1
Gimp 2 for ps2
Gimp 3 for ps3
Gimp 4 for ps4
Gimp 5 for ps5
Gimp 6 for ps6
There is no Gimp7 because Gimp doesn't have a color halftone filter
When you've finish all five, you can e-mail them to me.
For the Photoshop final, make a piece in either Gimp or Photoshop incorporating all the principles of design we've covered. Remember CARP?
Don't forget to save your Gimp/Photoshop files as jpg's and follow the naming protocol (ps1.jpg, ps1_thumb.jpg, etc...).
Here's a video to review the elements of design.
Elements of Design
You don't have to incorporate a tutorial for the final. Just be sure to use the elements of design.
And, of course you can use Gimp if you don't have Photoshop.
